Texas Hold’em is just about players and position. All experienced Holdem players concur that seating in no limit Hold’em is critically important. Playing your hole cards in last position could be much more profitable than in starting poker spot. The reason seeing that much more info is gathered prior to acting.

i.e., I was playing a $1-$2 no limit cash match at a local casino. I limped in holding 2, 9 unsuited on the dealer button, just to see a bit of fun. Flop arrived A-A-4. A player in early position placed a $15 bet. Two entrants drop out and it was my turn. I should have dropped out, but his game play seemed a bit odd. I labeled this contender as a weak-tight bettor, and normally if he had the best hand he would only check, so I called.

The turn showed with a 7, making it A-A-4-7. My opposer made another wager of $20. I hesitated for a while, but made a decision to re-raise an additional $30thirty dollars on top of his twenty dollars. He dropped out and I won the money.

Betting at late position provides you an idea where you are positioned by studying how gamblers behave and bet. On the flip side, players at early position can use their poker position to check-raise the late seated aggressors and trap them later at the end. In Texas Hold’em, both spots, late and early must be wagered cautiously.
