Focus on Annie Duke

Annie Duke might not have won her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until two thousand and four but Annie is still one of the most feared poker competitors around the ring games at The Bellagio in Sin City. Annie’s long-awaited WSOP win came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.

While players from the "young crowd" of poker run amok following a big success at the tables, Annie goes home to be "mom" to her four children. She was born in NH and grew up in a family of card players. If you don’t believe that, observe her brother, Howard Lederer, in action, Howard taught her the correct way to compete in the game.

However, Annie Duke is not a small-potatoes girl and has earned her cut of difficult games, including eliminating Howard along the way on numerous occasions.

Earning well over 3 million dollars in tournament play, Annie branched out to become a consultant to both UltimateBet and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who wished to sharpen his skills and become a force at the poker table.

You might notice her at the Bellagio, you’ll catch her on television and you may even compete against her in an internet poker match, but don’t count on a simple win. Unless you are a up and coming master, you won’t beat her. although, it would be fun to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
